Thanks Bill. Hopefully the TX1 blog picks up but I'll surely be posting about it.
I'm currently following dpreview, steve's digicam, and a few other forums. There's just not a whole lot of discussion about the TX1.

I looked into that DIY stabilizer. Maybe a smaller scale version will work but it would still probably take up a lot of space.
Maybe a smaller version of the Hague MMC (Mini Motion Cam) would be awesome.

The flickr group has died down considerably too but at least it's there.

Glad you went with the TX1, you will love it. I have 2 of them and really love the quality of the video and photos. The default stabilazation is decent, but a rig like you described would be cool. Check out http://powershot-tx1.blogspot.com/ for some more info on this kick-butt little camera.
