Check out the Canon TX1. I have one and use it for video all the time, produces some great HD video and great photos. Downside is it uses a jpeg fornat for video that eats up space- but the quality is excellent.Fits in your front pocket, great little camera.

Thanks I'll look into it. Having it record to H.264 is fairly important though. I imagine I'll be shooting some footage in low res to upload directly to youtube, for example.
I'm somewhat leaning toward the Sanyo HD1000. It sucks that there's no dedicated miniusb port though. I'd like to be able to charge/transfer media without using the dock.
